LiDAR Equipped UAV.

The mechanics of lidar drone surveying in the field are similar to photogrammetric drone surveying. The big question about lidar drone surveying is, how does it differ from photogrammetry?

There are a few key differences in capture methods and the visual outputs that can come from each method. One technology isn’t inherently better than the other. It all comes down to what the client wants to accomplish and achieve as final results. The Visual outputs – the most obvious difference between photogrammetry and lidar is their final 3D map. ESE uses one of the most advanced tools in the commercial drone industry. LiDAR a remote sensing technology where sensors that are mounted to drones send a pulse from a laser to collect measurements, which can then be used to create very precise models (including 3D models) and maps of objects and environments within a short span of time thus covering a large area.
